Memories Of A Fading Friendship

Life operates in strange ways. Why is it that we suddenly start thinking of old memories and friends out of the blue? There are some memories that bring a smile on the face and some that makes you equally sad. Your best friends become rare acquaintances, long phone conversations are reduced to awkward hello’s and hi’s. Only memories remind you of the good times that you have had. Some relationships drift with time, life moves on and so do people. How nice it would be to wipe away some memories and its implications. Life is cruel at times; it creates situations when you come face to face with your past and you are left with a buzzing numb sensation of how things have changed. How you wish the incident that caused this distance had never happened. You wonder if your friends feel the same way too or if they are too pre occupied to even think of these things. Common friends are probably the ones who are still keeping the fading friendship from dying and they are also remainders of the great friendship that was once shared. The whole purpose of looking at photographs is lost, it no more brings joy, it reminds you of the wonderful past along with the reality of the present. Are some friendships meant to be short lived? It’s surprising how years of mischief, ridicule, protectiveness, giggles, apologies can all be upturned by one bad incident and life will never be the same with that friend. Many times we wonder if our friends also feel the same.

Friendly Strangers

I like the simple friendliness Of Stranger’s on the street,

Who have the grace to say ‘Hello’ To anyone they meet,

Who never hesitate to smile, And lend a helping hand,

Or listen to a tale of woe And try to understand;

Who give directions if they can, And when the rain comes down,

Will share their own umbrellas with The other folks in town.

I always like the strangers who Display their plesent smiles

To ease the burden of this life And lighten weary miles.

I like their simple friendliness Where ever they may go,

Because they are polite and kind To those they do not know

God knows Best

Our Father knows what’s best for us, So why should we complain… We always want the sunshine, But He knows there must be rain.

We love the sound of laughter And the merriment of cheer; But our hearts would lose their tenderness If we never shed a tear.

Our Father tests us often With suffering and with sorrow; He tests us, not to punish us, But to help us met tomorrow.

For growing trees are strengthened When they withstand the storm; And the sharp cut of the chisel Gives the marble grace and form.

God never hurt us needlessly, And He never wastes our pain; For every loss He sends to us Is followed by rich gain.

And when we count the blessings That God has so freely sent; We will find no cause for murmuring And no time to lament.

For Our Father loves His children, And to Him all things are plain; So He never sends us pleasure When the soul’s deep need is pain.

So whenever we are troubled, And whenever we are troubled, And when everything goes wrong, It is just God working is us To make our spirits strong.

Good One...

I am not bound to win;

but I am bound to be true.

I am not bound to succeed;

but I am bound to live by the light that I have.

I must stand with anybody who stands right;

Stand with him while he is right;

Part with him when he goes wrong.

I will stand by my belief.

Always.
